The NextLevel Pulsar is awesome! Jonathan Gagne helped develop this brewer, an astro-physicist  who literally wrote the book about the physics of filter coffee! Although I'd recommend this brewer for the nerds out there! If you just want a nice easy coffee in the morning, this isn't the brewer for you!

This brewer feels like the conclusion of his book. Made from plastic for better heat retention, it is a flat bottom zero bypass brewer which has a stop valve for a better bloom phase and a shower head for better distribution of water over the coffee bed.

Due to the wide base of the brewer, You need to be using at least 22g of coffee to get the desired bed depth for your extraction.

Start pouring with the valve open, pour the first 70g of water to pre-wet the coffee bed and close the valve. Starting with the valve open helps mitigate fines migration due to the larger pieces of ground coffee floating to top.

When the valve is closed, give the brewer a Rao Spin, similar to a V60.

After 45 seconds, you can open the valve and start pouring the rest of your water, giving the brewer a spin in-between pours.

As with all brew methods, Try to repeat this each time and if your coffee tastes weak and thin then you want to grind finer, and if it tastes too bitter or dry/astringent then grind a little coarser.
